Goat Mowing

Unleash the Power of Goats: Transforming Overgrowth into Open Space.

Goats eating overgrown brush

Experience the eco-friendly and sustainable approach to managing unwanted brush and overgrowth with our Goat Grazing Land Clearing Service. For a setup fee of $125, we cater to areas within a 30-mile radius of our farm in Fayetteville. For just $150 per week, our goats will efficiently graze and clear out your overgrown areas. Beyond their practical benefits, these goats are a natural solution that avoids heavy machinery or chemicals, reducing the overall carbon footprint. Goats possess a unique ability to consume various vegetation, tackling challenging and thorny plants that conventional methods might often overlook. As they graze, the goats clear the land and naturally fertilize the soil, ensuring that the earth remains enriched and conducive for future growth. This method is beneficial in reducing fire hazards by eliminating potential fuel sources for wildfires. Upon commissioning our service, our dedicated team assesses the target area to determine the number of goats needed and the estimated duration. We prioritize safety by setting up temporary fencing to keep the goats within the designated area. Regular check-ins ensure the smooth progression of the project. Once completed, we handle the retrieval of the goats and all related equipment, leaving your space rejuvenated. Contact us for a personalized quote for locations beyond the standard 30-mile radius. Embrace nature's way of clearing land by hiring our goats today!

FAQs

1. Is there a minimum or maximum amount of land?

  • There is no minimum or maximum land requirement. For very large plots, we will rotate in sections as needed.

2. Do you come to my area?

  • We service most of the Fayetteville Area, typically traveling up to 30 to 45 minutes.

3. Do I need to have a fence?

  • A fence over 5 feet will save costs, but it's not mandatory. We provide portable electric fencing. Please inform us of any fence conditions, such as trees down on fencing, gaps, or damaged boards.

4. Is the clearing permanent?

  • Ivy, kudzu, and other weeds may require multiple visits to stop photosynthesis. Initial visits are the most extensive. We offer landscaping solutions to prevent invasive species growth.

5. Are the goats friendly? Can we play with them?

  • Our goats are generally friendly, and observing them is highly encouraged. Please use caution during meal times and supervise children due to horn height.

6. Will the goats mow my yard?

  • Goats are browsers and prefer plants at eye level. While they'll eat some ground cover, they excel at clearing overgrowth and vines.

7. I've heard goats will eat anything.

  • While goats won't eat everything, they consume a wide variety of plants. Please notify us of toxic plants or landscaping to protect.

8. What will I need to do to care for the goats?

  • Provide clean water, ensure daily headcounts, watch for illness symptoms, and check fence security.

9. How long does it take?

  • Depending on your lot's size, our herd typically clears most backyards in 2 to 5 days.

10. What does it cost?

  • Pricing is custom based on property size and clearing complexity. We have a setup fee for travel distance, fencing installation, and advance foliage clearing.

11. Which plants are toxic for goats to eat?

  • While goats can eat a wide variety of plants, some are toxic. Common toxic plants include Rhododendron, Yew, Lily of the Valley, Oleander, Foxglove, Hemlock, Nightshade, Black Walnut, and Oak. Ensure goats do not have access to these plants.

12. I live inside the city limits of Fayetteville, can I still have goats clear my backyard?

  • You can still enjoy the benefits of our goat overgrowth clearing service. Fayetteville's city ordinance permits the presence of goats within city boundaries. Goats are notably quiet animals, and rest assured, our goats have never caused any noise disruptions. In the unlikely event that someone contacts Cumberland County Animal Control regarding goats on your property, Animal Control will kindly inform them of the permissibility of hosting goats within the city limits.
